Happy Easter

"...It's True! The LORD has risen!"
-Luke 24:23

While Easter is a fabulous day filled with food, family, egg hunts and what seems like an endless supply of chocolate and jelly beans, we mustn't forget that there is only one reason we are so lucky to celebrate such a joyous occasion, Jesus!!

Luke 24:46-47 ESV

(46) and (Jesus) said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from
the dead, (47) and that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations,
 beginning from Jerusalem.

What a wonderful day, I personally, got together with my entire BEAUTIFUL family. We ate, hunted, and played games. What started out as me as an only child searching for eggs in my grandparents yard, has turned into me heading over a little early in order to hide hundreds of colorful treasures for my growing number of sweet younger cousins.
Our table was draped with a white cloth  and decorated with porcelain rabbits, ribbon, and a few Jelly Belly's (My grandma is so Martha-esque when it comes to things like this) , all this surrounded by incredible trays of food. I had to get two plates in order to have a taste of everything!
It was such a beautiful day today that we all picnicked outdoors, Ahh.

All In All...

Eggs were hid

Radiant Reminiscence

"Memory is a way of holding on to the things you love, the things you are, and the things you never want to lose."-Kevin Arnold

I am a photo fanatic, the girl who always has a camera in hand and ALWAYS stops for a photo op. For all of these moments, there is a somewhat of a consequence....LOADS (probably thousands) of pictures that for a while, I wasn't sure what to do with. Every so often I would look through them, but not often enough.
Luckily I found an organized, artistically expressive way to actually display my memories for others to see. Scrapbooking. A hobby I absolutely fell in love with.

Hobby Lobby is my Scrapbook Sanctuary. There is a huge variety of different colored/patterned pages of all sizes (even some covered in glitter!) Normally they are about 59 cents but they frequently have sales making them 1/2 off. There are also prearranged pages/sticker combinations that you can buy in packages. Handy right?!

The next purchase I never overlook, STICKERS!! I literally could spend hours there admiring the HUMONGOUS selection of stickers they have for any (and I mean any) occasion. These can be a little more costly, but again, they have sales for 50%. Once you get a collection built up its easier to replenish and you have more pickings for your future scrapbooks. They are a must have, the beautiful adornments and darling embellishments make all the difference.
There are so many different styles from colored card stock & stickers, and prearranged pages to random collages with magazine cut outs, doodles & old notes. They are so much fun to look at, more so than just a new album on your facebook page. Plus it's perfect for getting all your pictures out of those shoe boxes. Allowing you  to reminisce more often.

Empowered by Paint

Shows like Extreme Makeover, Clean House, and any kind of show involving redecorating are a part of my morning gym routine. While doing cardio I enjoy watching the transformation from bland/cluttered  to bold color schemes and interesting ornamentation. This left me with a question I absolutely HATE asking myself, Why not ME? Then I thought, Why NOT me?
While I thought I knew what I wanted, in entering the paint section at Home Depot, I realized I couldn't have been more wrong. I was overwhelmed with a huge selection of brands and an even larger selection of colors. The options were endless. I found what I wanted and ended up with a brand I will never stray from. Behr, the "#1 Paint and Primer all in one." How convenient!

I purchased 1 gallon gray, 1 gallon Plum Shadow, 1 pint white, 2 plastic covers, tape for the edges and an entire paint kit (Including: Paint pan, Two rollers, a corner edger and paint brush) all for around $86.00. While it seems like and quite an investment for just paint. It is well worth it. My room started out as a plain pale yellow.

I wasn't going to let my inexperience intimidate me. With the help of my boyfriend, I took my room on. I painted the back wall and ceiling purple, the other three walls gray and the borders/door white. In ONE day I totally revamped my room, it is now a peaceful plum palace.

I couldn't be more pleased, I didn't realize how uneasy my room was until I felt the contentment of my "new" room. One word comes to mind SATISFACTION. Be empowered by paint, I dare you.

Suggestion: I thought I was getting a steal when I used masking tape for the edges of my room because it was a little cheaper, wrong. The paint bled through a little (hardly), but if you are a perfectionist, I insist you go with the blue painter's tape.

It's Good to Be Gracious

I open this blog the same as I did with my "dream journal," I believe a Graditude List is in order. Just taking the time to think back of things you appreciate is a wonderful reminder of the little things we may tend to overlook. Though there are endless things I am thankful for, here are just a few:
My family
My boyfriend(and his endless support)
My friends
Our health
My animals: MaxwellHouse&GracieLouFreebush
My home
My creativity
My dreams & ambitions
My sense of humor
Advice I've been given
All who inspire me
