Make Your Bad Day Good & Your Good Day Better

Someone asked me what I do when I'm upset or in a bad mood to make me feel a little better. Initially, I didn't even know what specific things I did! For the next few weeks I paid closer attention to my actions when I was upset and recognized what things highlighted my good days.

Bleh! On a bad day...

Relax! Take a nap! When you wake up, chances are it'll be, "on the other side of the bed."

Take a shower or a bath, you are alone with your thoughts, let the aroma of your favorite soaps relax you.
Cry, whistle or lather up. Everyone knows "you time" makes everything better!

Keep some falsies on hand, when your not feelin' so hot, they instantly foxify your face!

Tune in to tune out. Listen to POSITIVE music. Try listening to Miz Minaj and tell me you don't feel like one Bad Barbie. Oh and Britney? She'll make you want to Dance Until the World Ends.

tape makes for great strait lines
Manicure!! Again with the YOU time. Build up a collection and allow for your nails to express your mood. You only live once so try some silly colors! From my experience, they can be a great conversation piece.

Treat yourself.
Grab a friend and allow yourself to pick up that purse/pair of shoes/shades you spotted on your last trip to the mall. There's nothing wrong with a little  retail therapy.

& On a good day...

Having a good hair/outfit/all together "got it goin' on" kinda day?
Snap a picture girl! Eliminate any future self-doubt!

Waterballoons! Add some extra smiles and fill up a few! Whether it's my sister and I trying to hit the same target, or a full blown war, these babies are guaranteed to brighten your day!

Be bold baby, kill 'em with a cool red lip.

Make the world your stage, sing. I'm talkin' around the house, grocery shopping, following your boyfriend around at Home Depot...If you have if you have a tune in your head or a favorite comes on, sing!
I swear, people don't even look at me funny. :)
To me it's joyous. A beautiful thing.

Journal. Prioritize on paper and get your goals written in ink.
Organize that big beautiful brain of yours.
If you have advice, share it. If you've got the knowledge, spread the love.
If you have any day highlighters, please share them with me in a comment below!

Wednesday Wisdom

Last week I experienced, what I decided was, the Perfect Summer Night. It was the second rain we have had all year and it was STUPENDOUS. In Las Cruces, NM rain can be scarce, even non existent. I stood out back on my porch and my mind was still. I embraced whatever I could from that moment. The twinkling lights on the roof of my porch, the safety of the tin roof over my head and the sound of the rain lightly dancing on it, thunder cracking near by and a delicate breeze warming my face, arms and legs. I smiled seeing my silly puppies run around in the drizzle and at the genuine company that surrounded me also clinging to the moment.
What a wonderful reminder that it is Summer. Live in the moment, love the people you are with, embrace the laughter and count every second of every hug.
P.S. Thank you to all of my followers. I totally got into this assuming that my blog would be for my own gratification. With each follower I grow more and more confident, and I can't wait for it to flourish, Thanks to y'all.

It's the Little Things

I always find things to be thankful for, but often times I think it may not be small enough. There are so many things that slip under my thankful radar, because I may not consider them big enough to be thankful for. WRONG! So daily I stop and take a moment to be thankful things that sadly, I may have overlooked. The list I came up with is interesting. I encourage everyone to appreciate every little thing you can.
If you are a busy bee and need a little reminding, there is an idea, credited to Happy Brittany. Simply utilize a small blessing, Post-Its, reading "Be Thankful" or "Here's your moment." Stick them everywhere and constantly pause to be grateful.

Flip-Flops, a happy medium for those who must wear shoes but would rather be barefoot :]
Any pen/piece of scratch paper that allow me to doodle on a daily basis
Adam Sandler, at least 30 fully entertaining movies
Aloe Vera, really takes the edge off the wrath of a sunburn, THANKFUL!
Conditioner, without this, I would have a mangled mane, oy.

Post-Its, reminding me to take my moment & be gracious
My Alarm Clock, where would we be without it? Am I right??
Movie Theater Previews, allows us all to be critics
Ipod, gets me through rough work outs
Remote Controls, CONVENIENT
Hair ties/ Bobby pins, it's hard to be a girl without 'em.

Phone covers!! I'm thankful every time I drop my phone!
Ice clinking around in my cup, it makes the difference in all of my beverages
Compliments, both giving and receiving them make me feel wonderful
Sidewalks, just imagine life without 'em!
Lotion/Chapstick. when you are desperately in need of either, they are absolute life savers

Lights, the Christmas lights adorning my room & back porch, they add a little extra twinkle
Cough Drops, especially in emergencies such as a cold/exam combinations
Generous People around me, enough said
Dandelions, or any opportunity to wish for that matter
Quiet moments that allow for reading or reflection

I could go on and on but I hope these have inspired a few little things to keep in mind when being so thankful.

Happy Easter

"...It's True! The LORD has risen!"
-Luke 24:23

While Easter is a fabulous day filled with food, family, egg hunts and what seems like an endless supply of chocolate and jelly beans, we mustn't forget that there is only one reason we are so lucky to celebrate such a joyous occasion, Jesus!!

Luke 24:46-47 ESV

(46) and (Jesus) said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from
the dead, (47) and that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations,
 beginning from Jerusalem.

What a wonderful day, I personally, got together with my entire BEAUTIFUL family. We ate, hunted, and played games. What started out as me as an only child searching for eggs in my grandparents yard, has turned into me heading over a little early in order to hide hundreds of colorful treasures for my growing number of sweet younger cousins.
Our table was draped with a white cloth  and decorated with porcelain rabbits, ribbon, and a few Jelly Belly's (My grandma is so Martha-esque when it comes to things like this) , all this surrounded by incredible trays of food. I had to get two plates in order to have a taste of everything!
It was such a beautiful day today that we all picnicked outdoors, Ahh.

All In All...
Eggs were stuffed

Eggs were hid

and I fell victim to a confetti egg attack

My Family, I'm surrounded by angels.
This isn't all of them, but here are a few.

Grandma, Uncle Mark, Mama, Papa & I

Baby Marky, Aunt Sarah, Sophia

Anna Banana

My wonderful boyfriend Daniel & I

Maggie, Alex (Ma), Andy & I

Claira Bear

Blissful and Blessed,
